Randomly speaking

A big shout out to "Sunshine", and I do not mean sunshine outside.

Sunshine is what I call my friend Tim Holtz. Not sure why, but i think it fits...He is kinda like my kindred spirit. So creative, such a generous spirit....and so damn talented! (in everything he does) Any way at Creative Escape we got to spend a little bit of time talking while we were setting up our trunk shows, and I mentioned to him that I love steampunk, I love making jewelry, and I love some of his ideology goodness.....Hmmm a Steampunk Jewelry class perhaps. 

 

Then I mentioned to him I was going to be teaching a serie of "Twilight Inspired" classes. I needed to have as much rich, gothic,inspirational inks and paints as he could pull together. Did he ever come through----This is what landed on my doorstep yesterday

 

Everyone who loves bling...needs to have glossy accents, and if you plan to take classes with me I highly suggest you always bring it....WE will USE it!

I took a the pictures like this so that those of you that bought the kits and will be doing this project at home would have an idea of what to choose from for inks and such.

Feeling inspired to get down and dirty yet? I sure AM!!!!

I had 35 seconds of free time this morning

So I am super excited, about my little expiriement...You know how much I love my vintage dictionaries. I love them even more now that I can print on them. Then spray the printed pages with Super Seal and I will have some new collage pieces using my own art or fab fonts...or even photos.

AccuCut Diaper Cake-(a request to post photos on my blog)

Make this Cake a earlier this summer for Miss Maddy's 3rd grade teacher...Maddy saw my friend Debbie mad one and decide that was the gift she wanted to give her. Thank goodness for AccuCut and all of my fabulous dies....The cake turned out almost good enough to eat.

Today I hit the Vintage Music jackpot! Some dress patterns for .25 aroad atlas, cool vintage butterflies and moths book....the graphics are gorgeous! Vintage Emboidery floss....yummy wheat color....I am quite sure you will find the music in your Twilight kits.

Wham-it will be taking away stress from everyone who dares take a punch at it,and every one who reads the back and identifies with all the reasons we are stressed out today!

Might just have to take a trip up there to take a photo or two in the store!

Twilight inspired class~Sneak Peek~First Class San Jose!!!!

This has a bit more work to be done---as you know it is in the details that we fall in love. This book is totally Luxurious, flocked papers that feel like velvet, rhinestones, glitter, glimmer, lace,tulle,Acrylic, paint....Luxury fit for Edward & Bella. My kids are so excited for this class that ...if you are a local store you may be inundated with my daughter and all her friends. Tomorrow I will post photos with more details...yummy details!

Have to do a real quick Shout out!

I have been in the craft industry for ohhh....8 years now.  In all those years I never met Heidi Swapp. I must have saw her a MILLION times in a MILLION places but one or the other of us were always to busy to say "HI"....Until last may at the Creative Escape preview day. I finally was formally introduced...in a very informal way of  course.  I must say, I have a huge respect for her and all she has done, accomplished, perservered through, and worked for...She is a force to be reckoned with in the sweetest way. This past CE our classrooms were next to each other, I could hear her get her students excited and inspired...and in between classes and events, she would always ask if I was okay? It is just who she is? Always looking out for everyone...always looking at the details, and always always smiling!

Honestly, how adorable does she look after 8 hours plus straight of teaching?

Heidi, It was a pleasure to finally meet you and participate in an awesome event together!

Love thinking up new class ideas!

I love dreaming up new classes...I glean inspiration from everywhere in this case Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. She single handedly got my oldest daughter to fall in love with reading...along with the rest of the world. I started thinking about what the series conjures up in my mind and realized...the artwork, the textures, the colors are right up my alley....vintage goth,roses, mysterious...could you get a better base for a class then that? I think not....so this morning I searched high and low for the perfect products to create the perfect book to pay tribute to such an amazing story. The class will be great for ALL ages.
